Proud and Loud Arts is recruiting!
We are looking for a WRITING MENTOR to join our production team for Shadow Girl Origins by Chrissy Carol Jones.
Deadline for applications: 5pm, Friday 22nd January
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Created and performed by Chrissy Carol Jones, Shadow Girl – Origins is a compelling, heroic children’s tale in which a girl finds her self-confidence and transforms into a defender of the invisible. Lead character, Sabrina is a girl lost in an intimidating and confusing world, and she longs for connection and understanding. All Sabrina wants to do is run away from it all, until the day she meets someone exceptional and her world is changed forever.
Told through live action, storytelling and shadow puppetry, Shadow Girl – Origins is a unique and uplifting tale for children and young people exploring themes of isolation and belonging, invisibility and resilience, fear and bravery. More information on Shadow Girl – Origins can be found HERE.
Following a work in progress performance in 2019, Chrissy is now looking to work with a writing mentor to develop new material for the final production of Shadow Girl – Origins.
The appointed writer will work alongside Chrissy to support and mentor her writing and help shape and edit the final script. A maximum fee of £2000 will be payable for this work.
HOW TO APPLY
Please send a CV and a short sample of your writing to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5pm, Friday 22nd January.
Shortlisted writers will be invited to attend an informal online chat over Teams with Chrissy (writer and performer), Caroline Kennedy (director) and Tom Hogan (Artistic Director, Proud and Loud Arts) on the 29th January or 1st February between 10am-1pm. If you are unable to make this date, then please let us know and we will try to find an alternative option.
