Welcome to our exclusive Proud and Loud Arts blog written, this month, by Chrissy Jones and founder member Kelly Hoye. We have some amazingly exciting news to share…

Fellow founder member, Janet Charlesworth, has been recognised for her valued contributions to the day to day running of Proud and Loud Arts by Salford CVS as they celebrate “brilliant Salford women who are making changes in Salford and wider” to mark International Woman’s Day 2024.

Janet is a very valued and respected member of Proud and Loud Arts, she has been a member for over 20 years and serves on our board as a Trustee.

Janet undertakes many tasks in her role including making sure the finances are in order to allow for a successful organisation to thrive.

Janet has also represented Proud and Loud Arts locally, nationally, and even regally (see image).

In addition to this Janet is engaged in a significant research project throughout the previous 12 months that aims to highlight gaps in disability provision in Salford, we’re looking forward to learning more about what Janet discovers about Salford and her fellow residents.

This is great and fantastic recognition for Janet as a disabled artist but also for our organisation who encourage their artists to strive and fulfil the upmost potential.
