Nominated for the Manchester Cultural Awards 2019
Proud and Loud Arts were invited to attend the Manchester Cultural Awards ceremony on the 9th November 2019. The event was hosted by Jennie McAlpine (Actor – Coronation Street) and Ria Meera Munshi (Choreographer – Ri Ri’s Dance Academy). The evening gathered together the crème de la crème of Manchester cultural society.
Introduced in 2018 by Manchester City Council to recognise the very best of culture in the city. This year that includes Proud and Loud Arts!
Manchester is now recognised as the second largest creative city in Europe after London and we couldn’t be more pleased to sit alongside those other wonderful organisations.
An inspiring evening
This year saw hundreds of nominees and we were shortlisted as one of five finalists for our work in the Promotion of Equality and Diversity.
This recognition stands as testament for all the individuals working as artists, but also to those behind the scenes. We have a team of dedicated staff and volunteers whose tireless work forms the backbone of our mission and without these people we couldn’t have dreamt of getting this far.
“The cultural awards was a beautiful evening. The venue was gorgeous, very welcoming. It was really lovely to share the evening with so many amazing and talented people & organisations who do amazing work for a great city. It was a privilege to get to the last 5 finalists and a great achievement for Proud and Loud Arts”
Kelly Hoye – Proud and Loud Artist
We would like to say a massive CONGRATULATIONS to all those nominated, shortlisted and of course those organisations who won.
A particular congratulations to the winner in our category, the Rethink Rebuild Society, who work towards improving the lives of refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants, in particular but not exclusively Syrians in the UK.
Thank you again to all of you out there supporting us in so many different ways. Whether that be raising money, raising awareness or raising spirits. We’re really looking forward to sharing all the magical projects we have to end the year and in the pipeline 2020!
